New Vision for Route 50 Approved
With the goal of attracting shops, restaurants, community centers and ultimately office development to the route 50 corridor, a slim Loudoun Board of Supervisors majority approved the Route 50/Arcola Comprehensive Plan Amendment Tuesday. The plan, expected to create a gateway to Loudoun, covers an area that straddles Route 50 from the Fairfax County line to just west of Route 659, including Arcola. "This will give us a new beginning," said Supervisor Stephen Snow (R-Dulles), whose district includes the area and who encouraged the plan changes. "The whole effort here was to get people living close to where they could get to employment or convenient mass transit."
