MedAssurant Moves Headquarters to Bowie

MedAssurant, a leading provider of health care services, is moving its corporate headquarters from Annapolis to Bowie, taking with it more than 500 new jobs. The move will make it the largest private employer in Bowie, surpassing the city's workforce of 319 employees.

Dr. Keith R. Dunleavy, president and founder of MedAssurant, said his company has signed a lease to occupy about 100,000 square feet at 4321 Collington Road, across from the Town Center - but only after depleting its efforts to find a new home in the Annapolis area.

He said his company outgrew its Admiral Cochrane Drive location, and first looked at such complexes as Park Place in downtown Annapolis and the Annapolis Exchange building in Anne Arundel County, before planning the move to Bowie....

The Bowie building was built by Buchanan Partners last year and has remained virtually empty and MedAssurant will occupy almost the entire building, except for one or two other tenants.
